Relief Night Auditor (Part Time)

As a night auditor, you are responsible for the front desk operation during the overnight shift. Primary responsibilities include: registering guests, making reservations, preparing daily reports, balancing transactions, and conducting security walks. Night Auditors must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision. They must also be able to problem solve and troubleshoot in order to resolve guest issues that may arise and respond to emergency situations.

Job Description:

*Guest/Client Service:

  • Proper communication in regard to our guests/client’s needs and enquiries.
  • Resolve guest(s) concerns to the best of your ability.
  • Take reservations daily using the appropriate scripting and ensure that all personal and credit information is correct.

Front Desk Operations:

  • Complete the accounting and reconciliation of all transactions daily at the hotel.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the Front Desk, Back Office, Business Center, and Lobby.

Night Audit duties:

  • Complete all night audit reports and file them in their appropriate locations.
  • Must be very familiar with the hotel housekeepers’ act. Follow proper procedures regarding disruptive guests.
  • Complete the Night Audit Balancing Sheet, that should always be properly balanced a the end of your shift.
  • Complete the nightly Innkeepers Report with the most up to date and accurate information.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 1+ years of experience in hospitality.
  • Demonstrate aptitude for clerical, data entry and basic math skills.
  • Must be able to work alone and follow safety guidelines.
  • Computer proficient in all Microsoft Office applications include Excel, Power Point, Word.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Detail-orientated with effective organizational and time management skills
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Communication: Strong listening and interpersonal skills. Must possess good verbal, written and visual communication skills.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for all periods of time on a consistent basis
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, twist and grip items on a consistent basis
  • Physical exertion to push, pull, and lift boxes/bags
