We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner who has experience working with First Nations, communicates clearly, passion for Mental Health and has strong problem-solving skills. The Nurse Practitioner is responsible and accountable for assessment of clients including but not limited to diagnosing diseases, disorders and conditions. The Nurse Practitioner provides professional guidance to other health professionals and practices interdependently within an interdisciplinary Mental Wellness team, Harm Reduction and health care team, making referrals to specialist physicians and others as appropriate.

The Nurse Practitioner initiates treatment including health care management, therapeutic interventions and prescribes medications in accordance with the statutory and regulatory standards, limits and conditions for Nurse practitioners and within applicable OMVC Employer Policies.

Education and Training

• Eligible for or currently registered as, British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP) and
relevant, clinical nursing experience.
• Preference with Experience or Training in Mental Wellness
• Valid Driver’s License
• In accordance with Section 41 of the BC Human Rights Code and Section 15 of the Canadian Charter of
Rights and Freedoms preference will be given to qualified candidates with Aboriginal Ancestry
