POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager, reports to the Manager Operations and Haida House and has responsibility as assigned for the best possible
guest experience and the day-to-day operation of the facility including appropriate payroll, maintenance of buildings and
grounds, supplies, maintenance of guest and other files, inventory, banking, liquor purchasing, and staff supervision, etc.
The Manager works cooperatively with the Team to build a welcoming environment, delivering the best of Haida
hospitality. The Manager will collaborate in the budgeting process and will monitor for budget compliance.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

§ Excellent organizational, diplomatic and people skills, with a cooperative approach
§ Understanding of Hotel industry demands & responsibilities
§ Self-directed, accountable, resourceful and supportive, experience and awareness of local communities and cultural
mandates
§ Available to work seven days per week during the season

TRAINING, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

§ Formal training in Tourism Management or Hotel Management is an asset
§ Degree in Tourism, or equivalent combination of skills, training and experience
§ Accounting and data maintenance experience, Microsoft Office
§ At least five years’ experience in a multifaceted tourism or hotel business
§ Successful experience supervising staff, including tourism, food and beverage and Administration;
