Reporting to the Manager, Maintenance, or designate, the Maintenance Worker is responsible for day to day on-site maintenance duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes. This position is responsible to ensure effective scheduling and execution of maintenance work to minimize cost, drive productivity, quality assurance and to promote a high level of customer satisfaction in accordance with expectations and goals of Horizon North. This position is based out of Prince Rupert and working an average of 10 hours per day.

This position is safety sensitive, and will require drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain camp, equipment and facilities to the highest possible condition.
  • Liaise with internal and external customers to ensure transparency of maintenance requirements and proper functioning of all systems on site.
  • Act as a resource and provide support to the mobile maintenance team, for completion of specialized maintenance work.
  • Carry out daily updates are entered into CMMS System accurately and in a timely manner ensuring all necessary data is captured
  • Communicate with Maintenance Planners, providing information for the development of quality site maintenance plans for the efficient scheduling and execution of on-site maintenance work.
  • Ensure sites maintenance parts, supplies, materials, equipment and stock are itemized and stored properly.
  • Keep current with industrial, technological and legislative changes.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed safely and efficiently in line with Horizon North policies, procedures and regulatory or other governmental agencies.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Qualifications:

  • Journeyman status in the construction industry or similar area of study; or 6 to 8 years of relevant experience and training.
  • Three years professional maintenance experience.
  • Five years technical knowledge and operational experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be flexible to travel.

Working Conditions:

Field environment with a rotational work schedule, traveling to a remote location, requiring work on evenings and weekends. Trained, as necessary, in required safety protocols.
