Building and Lawn Maintenance Worker NEEDED

Type of Work: Part Time
Building and Lawn Maintenance Worker
Permanent Part-Time: 10 hours per week, to be scheduled over two recurring weekdays between Mon-Fri
Rate of Pay: BCGEU Grid Level 10 ($20.52 to $23.90/hour)
Job Summary:
Performs maintenance and repairs duties on all buildings on our site. Carries out a preventative maintenance program and makes minor repairs. Orders maintenance supplies and related equipment/tools. Also maintains grounds by mowing the lawn in summer and clearing snow/salting sidewalks in winter.Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
At least one year of demonstrated maintenance experience is required.
Completion of Grade 10 including vocational training courses; such as building maintenance worker, or the equivalent education and experience is typically required for this position.
Job Skills and Abilities:
• Demonstrated ability to organize work and/or carry out maintenance duties with independence.
• Ability to work cooperatively and effectively under general supervision.
• Ability to work effectively with program staff and residents.
• Ability to operate power and other tools and equipment.
• Ability to use computers and software (Word, Outlook email) to order supplies, maintain logs and related records, and communicate with the larger team.
• This position is required to complete an online Fall Protection Training Course (training will be provided in available formats).

This position is required to use their vehicle in the course of their duties.
