Line Cook/Prep Cook (Full Time)

Reporting to the Chef, the Line Cook likes meeting new people, can talk to anyone, want flexible hours, thrive working at a fast pace and enjoy being part of a team. You are able to build rapport, take pride in your work, can juggle multiple tasks at once, are attentive to detail and are looking to grow in the hospitality/service industry.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetable, portioning, preparing sauces)
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Answer, report and follow Kitchen Supervisor instructions
  • Clean up station and take care of leftover food
  • Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
  • Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
  • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc
  • Undertake basic cooking duties such as parboiling food
  • Prepare simple dishes such as salads
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Job Requirements:

  • Must be 19+
  • Food Safe
  • 1 year experience in a kitchen environment
  • The ability to successfully complete a criminal record and credit check through the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB)
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to perform well under pressure
  • High degree of accuracy with good organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, & holidays
