Overview

The Rapid Response Housing program provides supportive living that includes 2 meals a day and assistance with life skills. The kitchen staff will be responsible for maintaining the commercial kitchen and overseeing the day to day operations.

Hours of Work:  This position is 6-7 Hour Shifts

 

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Work with Queen Charlotte Heritage Housing Society Administrator to maintain kitchen and cleaning program within budget.

 

  • Help set up a nutritious, varied menu plan for cold breakfast and hot supper.
  • Maintain food staples, kitchen equipment and supplies inventory and replenish as necessary.
  • Support Manager in cooking and serving dinner meals following the prescribed meal plan and clean up.
  • Work with other staff to ensure that cold breakfast is put out and cleaned up.
  • Work with other staff to ensure that meals are provided for on days off.
  • Supervise residents who may wish to use the commercial kitchen.
  • Set up a cooking/ baking program for participant food education.
  • Maintain a cleaning products and equipment inventory and replenish as necessary.
  • Keep daily records of all the meals, cleaning, activities or problems and concerns that occurred on your shift.

 

All staff, whether part-time or full-time paid or voluntary, are required to have the appropriate skills, training, and qualifications for the tasks they perform. 

These include:

  • Criminal Record Check
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System training (WHMIS)
  • Foodsafe Level 1
  • Mental Health Awareness & De-escalation
  • Working Alone Safely in BC
  • Standard First Aid
