The Opportunity
As our Journeyman Parts Person you are responsible for:
Receiving, labelling and putting away parts and supplies.
Maintaining inventory controls, record and reports.
Assisting in identifying parts/supplies for procurement.
Communicating effectively with management and foremen regarding the inventory or parts and supplies.
Maintaining order and housekeeping within the parts room and storage areas. Notifying management/foreman of arrival of high priority parts or supplies.
Ensuring supplies received from vendors that require an MDS are on file with DP World Prince Rupert Parts Department MDS.
Maintaining compliance checklists related to the parts room, storage areas and inventory.
Assisting maintenance personnel in locating and distinguishing proper parts and supplies as required with the use of parts catalogues and documentation. Packaging and otherwise preparing parts and waste materials for shipment from the terminal with appropriate documentation.
Assisting in unloading and loading of Parts Department supplies from couriers and freight companies with appropriate equipment.
Working with Vendors to obtain quotes for materials.
What you bring to the role:
A valid Journeyman Parts Person Red Seal Certificate or equivalent.
Strong computer skills and demonstrated ability to learn computers applications used in inventory control.
Ability to work independently and effectively with little supervision.
Strong communication, time management and planning skills.
Comfortability working on ladders and ladders stairs, and in an environment where dirt, dust, grease, grime, etc. are present.
Ability to work in an outside environment, and lift and carry items up to fifty (50) pounds.
Ability to be successfully certified/trained in the following: WHMIS, Transportation of Dangerous Good, Forklift, Maximo, Labelling Software, Other as required
