What you’ll do:

Reporting to the Food Store Manager, this role is responsible for the overall operations of the Grocery Department while providing leadership to a team. In this role, you will:

  • Provide leadership and direction in the development and achievement of operational and financial results.
  • Ensure standards for the marketing, merchandising, human resources, health and safety, and asset protection within the department are met.
  • Maintain inventory controls, image and fixed assets, and perform administrative duties.
  • Be responsible for recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and training and development of direct reports.
  • Foster a positive work environment that enables the engagement of team members in the pursuit of desired results.
  • Contribute to the Co-op in living the corporate values of Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork, and Responsibility.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Retail Store Operations and:

  • You have a Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • You have 1-3 years experience in a retail environment with some supervisory or lead experience.
  • You have experience in planning, budgeting and operating statements.
  • You are comfortable working in various computer systems with a willingness to learn new processes and adopt new technologies as they arise.
  • You’re honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
  • You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
