  PROGRAM:  Cradles to Moccasins Family Centre Early Years Services 

# Hrs. Weekly   40 hours – Tuesday to Saturday

START DATE: as soon as possible

Program Description:  Supports families & their children (0 to 6 years), including children with special needs, to enhance their language & communication, physical, emotional, cognitive & cultural development and access support services in a welcoming, culturally safe environment

Summary of Requirements

EDUCATION:   Early Childhood Education and Special Needs or Infant Toddler / Under Three Certificates

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:  Two (2) years recent related experience

OR Equivalent combination of education, training and experience

EXPERIENCE & PROFICIENCIES:

  1. Plan, carry out and evaluate developmentally appropriate activities and experiences for children based on service plan
  2. Develop strategies within daily programming and schedules to create an inclusive environment for indoor/outdoor, active/quiet and individual and group activities
  3. Identify the abilities, interests and needs of children and develops individualized and group curriculum based on these
  4. Report on progress, behaviours and other issues related to children. Contributes to reports for children moving on to elementary school. Maintains required records and statistics
  5. Participate in preschool planning and evaluation of programs offered by the organization. Provides recommendations for change to the supervisor
  6. Communicates with families about children’s growth and development
  7. Reports on progress, behaviours, contributing to reports for children moving on to kindergarten
  8. Discusses with parents, childcare/preschool centre staff and IDP/SCD Consultants with regard to unusual or problematic issues
  9. Performs other related duties as required

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  1. Access to and use of vehicle, Class 5 driver’s license with clear Driver’s Abstract
