Bus Driver

PWTransit is expanding our operations in British Columbia and are currently seeking customer-service oriented Bus Drivers to join our team. In this role, you will be operating all kinds of vehicles including Airport Shuttle, Transit and School Bus. License upgrade training offered for candidates who don’t currently possess a commercial license. Positions are casual with the potential to earn additional hours. Drivers are responsible for safely transporting passengers on a daily basis and must be committed to providing superior customer service.   • Safe and distanced interview process including virtual interviews and online onboarding
  • Personal protective equipment provided
  • Thorough wipe down of all high contact areas in the workplace (including buses) to be completed twice daily
  • Sanitizing bus interiors with Health Canada-approved disinfectant

Position Requirements:

  • Class 1 or 2 driver’s license with Air Brakes preferred; will also offer license upgrade training for interested non-commercial drivers
  • Driver’s abstract with no more than 3 demerit points
  • Willingness to undergo drug and alcohol screening
  • Clear criminal record
  • Must be organized, punctual and reliable
  • Possess excellent driving skills and habits
  • Ability to read maps and navigate
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • A good knowledge of the local area is a definite asset
  • Willing to work shifts, including split shifts, weekends and statutory holidays as necessary (transit service may operate 7 days per week, 17 hours per day)

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport passengers on a number of assigned routes
  • Manage passenger behaviour by quickly and effectively solving problems
  • Drive safely and responsibly and be prepared for all road and traffic conditions
  • Provide superior customer service and assist with passenger questions/inquiries

Additional Information:

  • This position may require working shifts, including split shifts, as well as weekends and statutory holidays
  • Selected applicants will be required to participate in a comprehensive recruitment process which consists of interviews, trainability session, medical examination (as required for licensing), drug and alcohol screening, criminal record and reference checks
