4th Class Power Engineer
to join their growing maintenance departmentand will be reporting to the Maintenance Manager in Prince Rupert, BC.

As the

4th Class Power Engineer,
you play a critical role in ensuring the maintenance and operation of their ice-making system, ice bin chilling units, and the automated ice rake delivery system. You will also be required to ensure the maintenance of equipment and ramps, water lines, etc. Working for a veteran company, the position offers amazing benefits, including assistance to relocate for the right candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Operate and maintain the

ammonia
refrigeration system (compressors, tunnel & blast freezers, cold storage, and chillers) in compliance with Technical Safety BC.

•Operate and maintain high-pressure steam boilers ensuring compliance with the code.

•Ensure the repairs and maintenance of other mechanical systems

•Examining the machinery to ensure the equipment is usable and performing repairs when necessary while maintaining efficiency

•Following the preventative maintenance programs

•Complete tasks as they are assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

•Valid 4 th Class Power Engineer Certificate from BC Technical Safety. Candidates with additional tickets (Millwright, Electrical or Refrigeration Mechanic) will be given preference.

•Minimum of 1+ year of related experience

•Having a trade certificate is an asset

Must have experience with ammonia refrigeration

•Be open and willing to learn mechanical systems, electrical, and hydraulics

•Physically able to perform tasks such as lifting and climbing

•Ability to analyze and diagnose systems when required

•Able to work required hours of operations which includes overtime and work during the weekend when necessary
