Stewardship Forester or Resource Technologist


Operational experience in integrated resource management, strategic/operational planning and silviculture

Experience in both First Nation and stakeholder consultation or engagement in natural resource management

A valid B.C. driver’s license

Preference will be given to candidates with training and experience in FREP protocols for the Riparian, Water Quality and Stand-Level Biodiversity resource values.  Training in the Visual Quality Effectiveness Evaluation Protocol is considered an asset.


Preparing and implementing a field sampling plan for a four member monitoring team

Mentoring junior staff on FREP  effectiveness evaluation and general monitoring initiatives

Facilitation of the annual aerial overview survey of Haida Gwaii to support the Provincial Forest Health program

Supporting the District Stewardship Officer in Forest Stewardship Plan review as it relates to FREP monitoring results

Coordination of the 2017 Multi-Resource Value Assessment (MRVA II) for the Haida Gwaii District

Submission/uploading of 2017 assessment results into the appropriate Provincial databases
